JUDGING CRITERIA
The judging criteria are as follows:
50% – Technique
Articulation
Dynamics
Intonation
Rhythm
Tone
50% – Musicianship
Balance
Blend
Expression
Interpretation
Phrasing
Style
The decision of the panel of adjudicators is final and no appeal will be
entertained.
5. AWARDS
5.1 The Central Judging provides the opportunity for school concert bands to
benchmark their performance standards. There is no pre-determined number
of gold, silver or bronze awards. Participating schools will be awarded
certificates based on their performances as follows:
- Gold 80% and above
- Silver 70% to 79%
- Bronze 60% to 69%
- Certificate of Participation 59% and below
To recognise the outstanding achievement of concert bands that have
attained high performance standards, schools that obtain a final mark of 85%
or more will receive the Gold award (with Honours).
